Our culture
Our business is powered by people
Our everyday heroes solve real problems daily. Whether it's carrying out technical drying in a flooded family home, restoring a school after a fire, or installing climate control systems in critical industrial facilities, our people are always by our customers' side. That’s why we call our people strategy People First.
To make all our employees feel at home, ready to take on this important job, we focus on building an engaged, safe and inclusive workplace. These are the three key areas that guide our people strategy and where we actively measure progress, especially via the yearly employee survey, to make sure our efforts lead to real impact.
Our approach to a great place to work
People aren’t just part of our business, they are the business. Every day, our teams help rebuild lives and prevent costly damage for our customers. That’s why we’re deeply committed to creating a workplace that is engaged, safe, and inclusive for everyone.
-
Engaged
We don’t just measure engagement. We act on it. Each year, we listen to our people through the Polygon Employee Survey, and we follow up with clear improvement routines across the organisation. We've also built a strong culture of learning and development, giving everyone the opportunity to grow their skills and build a meaningful career at Polygon.
-
Safe
Our people can face sensitive situations at work, that's why safety and well-being are our top priority. To keep our employees safe, we provide mandatory protective equipment where it’s needed, and we educate our employees on how to apply safety routines in their daily work. In 2025, we launched our Vision Zero programme to eliminate serious injuries by focusing on prevention, leadership, and a shared safety culture. It’s a long-term commitment to ensure everyone goes home safe, every day.
-
Inclusive
Everyone at Polygon is part of our success. From our everyday heroes working hands-on in challenging environments to the managers and administrative teams who support them, every role matters. We welcome people from all backgrounds, and everyone should feel valued, seen, and respected for who they are and what they bring.
Our latest employee survey achieved a 90% participation rate and showed a positive trend in how employees view our work environment, supportive culture, colleagues and team spirit.
Our core values
Our values serve as a guide to our people in everyday interactions with customers, colleagues, partners and other stakeholders.
-
Integrity
We act with honesty, take responsibility for our actions, and follow through on our commitments, toward both our customers and our colleagues.
-
Excellence
We lead with expertise, continuously improve, and apply best practices to deliver outstanding results in everything we do.
-
Empathy
We listen, seek to understand, and support our customers and each other, recognising that it’s our people who make the difference.
Zero-accident mindset
We are commited to minimize injuries and together adopt a zero-accident mindset.
We apply a structured approach to minimize risks and protect employees and other workers from injures and accidents. Particularly relevant to our businesses are personal protective equipment, clothing and air filtration to avoid exposure to harmful substances. We also prevent the spread of microbes and particles to the outside environment.
Sick leave and work-related injuries are continuously monitored in each country. In addition, lost time injuries and the sick leave rate are monitored quarterly.
Continuous learning - driving excellence
To support our people's long-term engagement, we invest in continuous learning at all levels. In 2024, we launched our global learning platform, PolyPro, a platform with:
over 7000 users,
70+ learning content creators, driving technical and functional content creation,
and accessible learning experiences deepening knowledge and career growth.
Leadership development
Our leaders play a pivotal role in driving our success. They drive decentralized teams, large enough to operate efficiently yet small enough to make quick informed decisions. This enables us to respond swiftly to our customers’ needs, often in challenging situations, while managing our people in sensitive environments, motivating teams and creating engaged, safe and inclusive workplaces.
To ensure our leaders are the best that they can be, we run a leadership development programme, the Champions Camp, an initiative to develop impactful leaders for the future.
